As a Superintendent, you’ll take charge of promoting and enforcing safety measures, making sure our project team, trade partners, and stakeholders thrive in a secure environment. Your exceptional supervisory skills will ensure that direct reports, subcontractors, and suppliers work together seamlessly, keeping the project on budget and ahead of schedule. Collaborate with the Project Manager and local inspection departments to conquer every challenge and achieve project success.

Essential Duties

  • Communicates and reinforces True North Companies Mission, Values, and Vision. (Colossians 3:23-24)
  • Promotes and enforces safety for project team members, trade partners, and stakeholders.
  • Provides necessary means for field staff to enforce company safety guidelines above OSHA standards.
  • Sets a “Zero Tolerance Safety Standard” example for the entire project team.
  • Fast-tracks schedule development and maintenance, monitoring critical components daily.
  • Supervises total construction effort to ensure design, budget, and schedule adherence.
  • Manages direct reports, subcontractors, and suppliers, providing feedback and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Understands all facets of assigned projects, collaborating with the Project Manager and team members for effective project execution.
  • Coordinates with local inspection departments to meet local requirements for successful project delivery.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of the assistant superintendent, field engineers, craft employees, and subcontractors.
  • Advises the owner, design team, and tradesmen associated with the project.
  • Determines work priorities and coordinates activities to maintain efficiency and schedule adherence.
  • Oversees construction contract terms and conditions.
  • Distributes work among employees and subcontractors to maintain a smooth flow.
  • Introduces new trades as required and ensures work aligns with project plans and specifications.
  • Establishes a safety-focused work environment, enforcing safety policies and holding all project members accountable.
  • Conducts regular safety meetings to ensure adherence to company safety policies.

  • Strong reading and comprehension skills for business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Problem-solving skills for dealing with situations involving multiple concrete variables in standardized settings.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Windows-based applications like Word, Excel, scheduling, and job costing software.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software such as SmartBid and Procore (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including probability, statistical inference, plane fundamentals, solid geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Adherence to the company’s safety policies and procedures.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience and training.
  • OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must live within a 30-mile radius to the site (Boiling Springs, SC).

Required Skills:

  • Experience in the construction industry, specifically in the role of a superintendent
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes
  • Proficient in using computers and software such as Smart Bid and Procore
